This is the first of two vocabulary development volumes; primarily aimed at students of English who possess knowledge of Arabic or French or both. The first part gathers sets of Anglo-Saxon and other English-translated quotations and arranges them according to the alphabetical order of their authors. Quotations are classified into topical categories that aim to promote dynamic learning through a better grasp of their grammatical, syntactic and semantic characteristics and, eventually, awareness of the pitfalls of translation. Matching English synonyms with Arabic and/or French equivalents exemplifies the core of the task-types around which this workbook revolves. |
